Improved Food Security: School Meals Emergency Intervention in the Lupane district

Improved Food Security: School Meals Emergency Intervention in the Lupane district

In strong synergy with existing activities under the partnership of Christian Youth Volunteers Association Trust (CYVAT), Engineers Without Borders Denmark (EWB-DK) and Care4People (C4P), partners will initiate a school meal program with a minor component of school gardening in order to secure future sustainability and community resilience. The intervention is found relevant and timely in particular due to the present food (in) security situation. Zimbabwe has been facing food insecurity for the last few years, and it is estimated that more than 72,000 children are at high risk of malnutrition in the districts of Zimbabwe. This emergency intervention ensures that children in the Lupane district receive at least one meal a day and can continue to go to school and obtain an education.
