Power Supply
Liberia must, after 14 years of civil war rebuild. Now Liberia is very poor, and needs to focus on rural people's terms and provide a greater opportunity for people to become self-sufficient in relation to food. In addition, improved infrastructure, including energy, is a must. The lack of energy also affects the rural population's opportunities for information, education and news coverage as this is largely dependent on energy.
EWB-DK provided engineering assistance to the Danish Refugee Council in West Africa with designing an overall plan and a catalog of ideas for establishing access to electrical power in small towns and villages.
The project contributes to affordable and clean energy in compliance with the current UN Sustainable Development Goals.
